We are delighted to announce this latest partnership with West Hartlepool’s under 11 girls.

Exciting Announcement: WestRovians Girls Team

Hartlepool Rovers are thrilled to introduce our new WestRovians Girls Team! In collaboration with our friends at West Hartlepool RFC, our current U11 girls are joining forces to create the WestRovians Girls U12 team starting next season.

We kicked off our partnership with a joint training session this weekend, marking a fantastic start to our new adventure. The atmosphere was filled with smiles, teamwork, and camaraderie, alongside some great rugby action.

Coaches from both Rovers and West have been working hard to establish this initiative, ensuring that girls in Hartlepool can continue their involvement in the sport we all love. Girls can play mixed rugby until the end of their U11 season (School Year 6), after which they transition to girls-only teams at U12, U14, U16, and U18 levels. With several of our girls nearing the end of their mixed-team experiences, we wanted to provide them with the opportunity to keep playing rugby and remain connected to their clubs.

This partnership allows our girls to continue their rugby journeys with full support and resources from both clubs.

It's an exciting time for girls to get involved in rugby, and we hope to attract new players as well as those looking to return to an all-girls team as we establish the WestRovians. If you’ve enjoyed playing rugby at school, this team is for you!

The coaching team includes Alex and Bethaney from Rovers, along with Lily and Martin from West. The girls will train on alternate Sundays over the coming months at both clubs, with plans to introduce a midweek training session as we progress.

Our next joint training session is scheduled for December 8th at Rovers

If you’d like to join us on this exciting journey and be part of something new in girls' rugby, please get in touch!
